Clash of Titans by Samipie Clash of Titans by Samipie
A drawing of the Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution mk.II versus the BMW M3 E30, both in their race trim with which they participated in the early years of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM).

The Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (1984-1995) should not be confused with the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (2000>). The 80ies and early 90ies of this series is often seen "The Golden Era". Beautiful cars, on-the-edge racing and spectacular shows.

I personally liked the reference picture, which I based this drawing of, as it shows rival-ism in every aspect. Mercedes-Benz vs. BMW, AMG vs. M Power, Diebels Alt vs. Warsteiner, Michelin vs. Yokohama, Dark vs. Light.

If you are an autosport fan and you have 6 minutes to spare, check out this video to get a feel of DTM's best years: [link]

Nice image indeed.

It really could do with a little more background but it's good to see Kurt Thim and Roberto Ravaglia going at it!

Happy memories.

Thank you. Happy memories from a great time indeed. :)

Sadly I'm not experienced enough yet with backgrounds. I was afraid I'd mess it up.

Well, we've all got to start somewhere and its the sign of a good artist when you know when to stop. :)

Cheerio!
